Previously known as the Steel Casting Research Technical Association (SCRATA) this is one of the leading castings Institutes in the world.
Its involvement with industry includes research into the properties and improvements in casting technology for steel and light alloy
castings used in the oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, aerospace and automotive industries.
Reasons for participating
CTI are committed to advancing the uses and integrity of castings used in industrial applications. They see this project as important
in terms of making the European casting industry more competitive on a world wide basis while improving the quality of the product.
Contribution to project
CTI will provide casting samples and input and advice on the casting process, types of defects, orientations etc and also where appropriate supply samples for the project. They will also input data into the defect recognition work on castings and supply training data for the NDT training workscope.
