Balteau is one of the world's specialist manufacturers of industrial X-ray equipment. Balteau equipment is used for quality
control and in-service inspection. The company manufactures a full range of X-ray testing equipment from portable directional and
panoramic generators for site-use through to constant potential units and systems for on-line inspection within manufacturing environments.
In 1997 Balteau also achieved registration to ISO 9001. Balteau's role in the project is to develop a stable mini-focus X-ray generation
system, which will constitute an X-ray head, and be capable of continuous operation on the production line. It will have a superior
technical specification in terms of stability, and hence will not just be made available to 'light alloy' casting batch production lines,
but will also form the basis of other production line inspection systems, such as in the electronics PCB industry. Significant increased
sales will result.
Reasons for participating
Balteau consider that significant technological advancement will be the outcome from this comprehensive project and that significant
sales growth potential will result throughout Europe.
Contribution to project
Balteau's role in the project is to develop a stable mini-focus X-ray generation system (WP-B), which will constitute an
X-ray head, and be capable of continuous operation on the production line. It will have a superior technical specification
in terms of stability, and hence will not just be made available to 'light alloy' casting batch production lines, but will also form
the basis of other production line and site inspection systems, such as in the petrochemical industry. Significant increased sales will result.
