X-Tek was founded in 1986. Originally conceived as a custom design facility for microfocus X-ray systems, X-Tek rapidly expanded
into volume production of high quality, high precision, standard and custom designed X-ray systems. Over the past 6 years X-Tek has
undergone rapid growth, moving to a much larger manufacturing site, increasing workforce and recently (1997) opening X-Tek LLC, a
sales and service office in Santa Clara, California, situated in the centre of Silicon Valley. In December 1998 X-Tek purchased
OIS Engineering Ltd from the Barco group. This acquisition broadens the market reach into the NDT area and greatly enhances our
research and development capability. X-Tek also maintains a world-wide agent network. X-Tek has a international user base with
installations throughout Asia, the USA and Western Europe. Major multinational companies using X-Tek equipment include AMD, Ericson, Ti,
IBM, Motorola and ASAT.
